Job Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen within BDD Pharma for a Research Nurse to join the team at our clinical trial unit within Glasgow Royal Infirmary. Supported by a fully trained clinical research team you would have responsibility for the care and wellbeing of our trial volunteers and be actively involved in trial recruitment and conduct procedures including medical checks, blood sampling, managing adverse events and source/CRF completion.

This is a busy clinical trial unit with multiple Proof of Concept and Phase I-II clinical trials running at any one time. Our clients come to us to help with challenging projects to treat real medical needs across a range of therapeutic areas which brings variety and interest to the role.

This is a full time permanent position with 37.5 hours per week. Hours are generally normal business hours (Mon-Fri 8-4) however flexibility is needed to meet client needs and protocol requirements including evenings and nightshift work and occasional weekends.

Education, Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

·        Registered Nurse (must have current NMC registration)

·        At least 1 years current and relevant clinical experience

·        Evidence of continuing professional development

·        Competent in core clinical skills including recording a 12 lead ECG, blood sampling via venepuncture and via cannula, cannula insertion, recording of vital signs, performing urinalysis, urinary catheterisation and providing basic nursing care and treatment as requested by the physician

Desirable:

·        At least 2 years previous experience within clinical research

·        Up to date Good Clinical Practice certification

·        Experience of working in both academic and commercial research

·        Have working knowledge of ICH/GCP and local regulations compliance

Personal Attributes:

·        Have proven experience of prioritisation and time management

·        Flexible approach to service delivery and committed approach to development.

·        Demonstrated ability to handle multiple competing priorities and utilise resources effectively

·        Ability and willingness to work flexible patterns of working including evening and overnight work in line with trial requirements.
